FORKLIFT OPERATOR

Forklift Job Summary:

Operate propane powered counterbalance industrial forklift trucks to load and unload materials for production, shipping , receiving and move them to and from storage areas, machines and loading docks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily forklift checklist and ensure the forklift is in good working condition. Report any problems to your direct supervisor.
  • Safely load and unload products/materials/racks on or off trailers.
  •  Load trailers based on loading documents. Ensure all paperwork is filled out correctly.Ensure loads are properly secured in the trailer.
  • Ensure all product/material is stacked and stored properly in the designated area.
  • Move product from the production lines to the warehouse floor in a designated area.
  • Assist with setting up production lines if required by line supervisors
  • Notify your direct supervisor when problems arise or deadlines are not met

 Experience and Requirements:

  • Valid Forklift License/Certification.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills.
  • Fast decision making skills to resolve time critical issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English)
  • Computer skills. Data entry.
  • Able to work both as a team and individually.
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions.
  • Good attendance and punctuality record.

Work Environment:

  • Fast paced environment.
  • Work under pressure and in stressful situations.
  • Able to use hands and feet simultaneously and perform repetitive movements.
  • The work environment consists of occasional seasonal temperature shifts ranging from cold to very hot.
  • Exposure to dust and loud noise (Personal protective equipment provided).
  • Scheduled 8 hours per day.
